This is a joke among businessmen in Java, claimed my friend who has a business in Indonesia.

He said he was told many stories about businessmen who suddenly became rich in a very short period of time after they had visited the mountain.

“However, not many Muslim businessmen are willing to go there because the price is too high.

“It is said that the spirts are asking for living human being as the sacrifices.

“They (his Muslim businessmen) joked with me that if the spirits are merely asking for goats or cows, many of them would have visited the mountain,” he said when met in a coffee shop recently.

He also claimed that those who were rich with the assistance of these spirits would have their employees die every year.

“To them, it is not a big deal. Just one life every year,” he said.
